What happens if I do take back mattresses from my customers?

Valumat provides a financial incentive for final sellers who voluntarily accept discarded mattresses upon the purchase of a new mattress. For practical reasons, this amount is calculated on the basis of the tonnage collected (600 €/tonne). This equates to approx. €9 per mattress.

In exchange for compensation, you agree to take back mattresses from consumers free of charge when they buy a new mattress from you (principle of free take-back 1/1).

However, if you deliver a mattress to your customer, it may be possible to charge for transport costs.
